The School of Foreign Languages Began Preparatory Work for DEDAK Accreditation

Work has begun to improve the quality of preparatory education within the School of Foreign Languages and to bring all aspects of education into line with international standards. In this context, the YDYO Unit Accreditation Commission held its first meeting to review the DEDAK Evaluation Criteria and Scope. The commission's second meeting was held with the administrators of the Karadeniz Technical University School of Foreign Languages, which is accredited by DEDAK. At the meeting, views were exchanged on accreditation preparation processes, criterion-evidence relationships, teaching programs, measurement and evaluation, student support, management, infrastructure, equipment, and continuous improvement criteria. The meeting was attended by Cengiz Koray Saka, Head of the Foreign Languages Department at KTÜ YDYO; Aynur Düzenli, Deputy Head of Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Ekmekçi, Director of OMÜ YDYO; Assistant Directors Lecturer Havva Nur Bozdoğan and Lecturer Salih Kılıç; and Unit Accreditation Commission members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydan Ermiş, Lecturer Tuba Odabaş, Lecturer İlknur Namlı, Lecturer Dalga Özal, Lecturer Mustafa Bozdoğan, and Lecturer Feyhan Patan. During the highly productive meeting, it was decided that the two institutions would continue to exchange views and share experiences in academic and administrative areas.

DEDAK is accredited by YÖKAK and contributes to improving the quality of language education in Turkey by accrediting language programs at universities engaged in higher education.
